American Values Are, LLC Sponsor-A-Guide^™ Program

Sponsor a Guide:

One thing that we at American Values Are, LLC learned right away is that the process of creating one of our dialogue guides is a great process to learn about American political and social history.

For this reason, we are also offering the Sponsor-a-Guide™ Program at “American Values Are …®” A public school classroom can apply to this program through AMVA.com to create and draft a new “… IS an American Value®” or “… is NOT an American Value®” guide.

Upon approval and publication of their guide, the classroom will be credited here on our website, as well as on the print copies of the guide, as participants in the Sponsor-A-Guide™ Program.

Sponsor an “American Values Are …®” Lesson Plan:

Is drafting a guide too ambitious a project for your classroom, or is your time schedule too tight? Consider instead sponsoring a lesson plan for a classroom based on one of the pre-existing guides. These lesson plans could be a series of classroom activities and lectures based upon one of the guides, or perhaps the classroom wishes to contribute a new historical source and write a new series of questions. The lesson plans will also be placed on our website and the same rules and regulations as those for the Sponsor-A-GuideTM program apply.

Sponsor-A-Guide™ and Sponsor a Lesson Plan Guidelines and Regulations:

• American Values Are, LLC has complete and final discretion to approve or deny a sponsor or guide topic, to edit a submitted guide, and to grant final approval or denial for a completed guide.
• Approved guide topics currently available for the program will be available soon. Until then, proposals will be accepted on a case by case basis. If you wish to nominate a value, include the proposed value, along with an explanation of why you think it should be included, under “… IS an American Value®” or “… is NOT an American Value®” in your application materials.
• Classrooms should follow the guide template, which will be provided upon approval of application (to apply, see below). This template offers information on language usage, non-partiality, and other content-related information, as well as formatting guidelines/style guide.
• American Values Are, LLC retains full ownership rights of any guide created through the Sponsor-A-GuideTM Program, and classrooms may not separately market or sell guides without written consent from American Values Are, LLC.
• Parents or legal guardians of students involved will be required to sign a form, acknowledging their children's participation in the program and that American Values Are, LLC will hold the copyright to the resulting guides. Teachers and school officials involved in the program will also be required to sign such a form.
